We provided an eCommerce audit for Forbes #1 Walmart recently. It involved a deep analysis of their website user experience and resulting online buyer journey.
With an overall performance of 57% initially, there were some key findings that we were able to identify for them as being crucial to improving performance.
These included design issues around the product search navigation, identification of unnecessary steps to purchase for removal and the suggestion of including sticky CTA’s to both desktop and mobile sites. Close to 150 items such as these, were suggested to implement best practice techniques on their platform. These included recommendations for updates to the header, search, homepage, footer, PLP, PDP, basket, checkout, account, accessibility, performance and other miscellaneous items.
Recommendations were presented in the form of a priority and impact score – measuring both the impact that the update would achieve, balanced against the effort required to implement.
